For 3 months the author has a story idea but became frustrated that she just could not organize her thoughts. Then she got covid. Lo and behold, her brain opens a door with guiding light leading her along a literary path. In less than 24 hours, with coughing, fever and chills, she was able to frame the whole plot of the story! Talk about covid related “Brain Fog,” her brain did the opposite instead.

NIKKO, intelligent, eloquent, curios New Zealand boy observes three unusual phenomena happening in their coastal community after each thunderstorm: 1) Invasion of two crab species from different source, 2) Ocean flooding encroaching closer and, 3) Increase incidence of sea life washing ashore. His curiosity instinct goes into overdrive. Formulating a theory with no hard evidence, he overrules his parent’s advice. He decides to distribute warning flyers to their coastal neighborhood. Thereafter, chaos and confusion follow, resulting in hostility towards the family. Paranoia sets in, accusing his father a lawyer, real estate investor/broker, part community owner to force them out, redevelop their prime ocean front property to cater to millionaires. Resolution seems out of reach until he encounters a paranormal being who offers help and solution, but precondition on the task is improbable for a child to attain.
